Too often, people aren’t dying in ways that match the goals and values of how they live their lives.

End Well Symposium Speaker – Lucy Kalanithi, MD

A life-threatening illness diagnosis thrusts individuals and their families into profoundly unfamiliar territory. Often rife with conflicting expectations, raw emotions and existential insecurity, the passage is further complicated by our culture’s deep denial of death. How then can we ever know how to make sense of all that lies ahead? This session explores how being open to addressing the truth as well as the ambiguities of the situation can enhance care, create opportunities for human connection and allow for the transformation of anguish into grace.

nd Well is a first of its kind gathering of design, tech, health care and activist communities with the goal of generating human-centered, interdisciplinary innovation for the end of life experience.
